Achieving Investors in People Apprenticeship Silver Award
Intec have worked in partnership with Coeo UK since 2016 supporting the development of over 50 employees with business administration and customer service skills.
Intec support with the screening and recruitment of young Apprentices as well as delivering the structured training and assessment in the skill required by the apprentices to become part of Coeo’s talented workforce.
This long standing partnership has seen a number of success stories such as the wonderful achievements of Hollie Thurman who was recruited by Intec’s Apprenticeship Recruitment team. Hollie achieved a Distinction at End Point Assessment as well as promotions at Coeo. Intec’s Tutor, Graham Rickett, who has worked with Coeo since the partnership commenced has had this to say about the organisation’s commitment to apprenticeships and the development of young talent “It is a pleasure to work closely with the learners and management at Coeo as this business has a forward thinking approach to training and support to all its staff. Coeo pay their apprentices in line with non-apprenticeship employees and this demonstrates how the business places importance on equality and inclusion. The business has been very supportive of apprentices and we have developed an excellent working relationship focussed on supporting each and every learner to achieve and maximise their potential.”
With all of this in place, it is no surprise to see Coeo achieve the Invest in Apprentices Silver Award as part of the Investors in People Accreditation. We would like to congratulate Coeo on this amazing achievement and share some of the key points of feedback:
- There is a clear alignment to the organisation’s purpose and values including a long-term ambition with apprentices to build future talent within the business for succession planning and skills gaps.
- The apprenticeship programme is regarded as a structured training programme for employees rather than simply a junior or entry level job. Apprentices are treated exactly the same as non-apprentices and your apprentices believe they have benefitted greatly from the programme in many diverse and unique ways.
- The Apprenticeship programmes are well planned and structured including work and development plans in place for everyone. Plans are reviewed regularly and people’s support needs are identified and addressed.
- Apprentices feel consistently well supported by both their Tutor and Apprenticeship Manager and the majority feel prepared and confident to approach their assessment.
- Supporting and protecting individual wellbeing and mental health is clearly a priority and something that the organisation invests both time and money in supporting. Many apprentices are complimentary of the support available.
- Apprentices feel celebrated and that their successes are recognised by their manager and – more often than not- the organisation as a whole.
This is a wonderful acknowledgement of Coeo. Intec are proud to work in partnership with Coeo and in helping them to attain their accreditation.
