XPO Logistics, a leader in sustainable and innovative logistics solutions across Europe, hosted its first-ever UK Apprenticeship Awards on October 24, 2024. The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the dedication, talent, and hard work of apprentices across the business.

We were thrilled to be invited to this special day to present the Providers Choice Award, a chance to recognise the incredible efforts of XPO’s apprentices and our ongoing partnership in delivering apprenticeship programmes.

A Day to Celebrate Achievement

The awards ceremony brought together apprentices, their mentors, and XPO’s leadership team to celebrate the milestones these individuals have reached. Completing an apprenticeship while managing daily responsibilities is no small feat, and it was inspiring to see so many accomplishments recognised.

Several apprentices stood out for their exceptional contributions and received special awards:

  • Providers Choice Award: Jack Jarvis, recognised by apprenticeship providers and HR Business Partners for his outstanding dedication and efforts.
  • Shining Star Award: James Yarrow, celebrated for his commitment to his apprenticeship and career growth.
  • Early Bird Award: Amy Roberts, who completed her apprenticeship in record time.
  • Outstanding Result Award: Loredana Ionita, recognised for achieving extraordinary results in her written assignments.

Supporting Careers at XPO

XPO has fully embraced apprenticeships since the introduction of the apprenticeship levy, using these programmes to invest in future talent. The variety of roles available reflects their commitment to professional growth, with apprenticeships spanning finance, HR, traffic operations, HGV maintenance, and leadership and management.

Currently, 51 apprentices are on programmes, and many have already been promoted or progressed onto further apprenticeships—proof of how XPO is supporting career growth.

Lynn Brown, Vice President of Human Resources for the UK and Ireland, shared her pride in the achievements of the apprentices:

“We want to congratulate all our 51 apprentices, especially our award winners, who have already made outstanding contributions to the business. These individuals have gone above and beyond in their work and commitment to XPO, and each of them has been highly successful in their relevant fields. We look forward to working with them in the time ahead and watching their careers progress.”

A Partnership to Be Proud Of

As one of XPO’s apprenticeship providers, we were proud to attend the event and present the Providers Choice Award. It’s inspiring to see apprentices excelling in their fields, and we’re thrilled to play a part in helping shape careers and nurture the future leaders of the logistics industry.
