Added 12.02.26

When Evie Kemal began her apprenticeship, she brought with her a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and a real desire to build a meaningful career. Throughout her programme she has exceeded expectations, demonstrated impressive maturity and shown a level of commitment to her development that truly sets her apart. These qualities have earned her the title of Intec Business Colleges’ Rising Star of the Year 2026.

A promising start built on drive and determination

Before starting her apprenticeship, Evie gained valuable customer service experience working in cafés and restaurants alongside her studies. After completing her GCSEs, she went on to college but soon realised she preferred a practical and hands on way of learning. An apprenticeship felt like the perfect route, giving her the chance to earn, learn and develop her skills at the same time.

From her first day, Evie showed clear ambition. Although she felt a little nervous at the beginning, she settled quickly into her role and soon began completing her tasks ahead of schedule. She often approached her assessor to ask for additional work and took pride in producing high quality assignments that were detailed, thoughtful and clearly linked to her learning.

Growing into a confident and capable professional

Over the course of her apprenticeship, Evie has developed a wide range of skills that have made a noticeable difference to her performance. She has strengthened her communication, learning how to listen actively, respond with empathy and adapt her approach depending on the needs of the person she is speaking to.

Her ability to manage her workload has also grown significantly. She now handles a large volume of communication from contractors and regularly takes ownership of queries rather than passing them on. Her colleagues describe her as reliable, proactive and someone who always goes the extra mile to support her team and deliver excellent service.

Her assessor shares this view, noting how quickly Evie understood the expectations of the programme and how consistent she has been in producing high quality work, especially for someone at such an early stage in their career.
