Francesca Lord, E H Booths: Rising Star of the Year 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Francesca Lord from E H Booths has won our Rising Star Award for 2025.

Frankie’s story is a shining example of the power of apprenticeship programmes and the incredible impact they can have on individuals, businesses, and communities.

Frankie began her journey at Booths after recognising her desire to progress within the company while gaining qualifications that aligned with her values and ambitions. After progressing to Team Leader, Frankie embraced Booths’ Future Manager apprenticeship programme, which allowed her to develop her skills, confidence, and leadership capabilities.

“After struggling with traditional academic routes, my apprenticeship offered a hands-on approach that truly suited my learning style. It’s been a life-changing experience,” says Frankie.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Frankie has accomplished remarkable milestones:

• Educational Excellence: Achieved a distinction in her Level 3 qualification and is currently following the Level 5 Operations Manager programme.
• Business Impact: Played a pivotal role in high-profile projects, including the refurbishment and opening of Cafe 1847 at Hesketh Bank, transforming it into a modern restaurant service concept.
• Leadership Development: Supported and coached a cohort of 10 future managers at Booths, sharing her knowledge and fostering their growth.
• Charitable Endeavours: Cycled thousands of miles to Paris, raising significant funds for charity, showcasing her dedication to making a difference beyond the workplace.

Frankie’s journey was not without its challenges. From leading teams through significant changes to balancing her professional and personal commitments, she demonstrated resilience and adaptability at every step. Notably, she managed the complexities of overseeing two teams during the Hesketh Bank refurbishment while supporting the Fulwood team through a period of transition.

“Challenges have taught me the importance of staying positive, working collaboratively, and never hesitating to ask for help. These experiences have shaped me into the leader I am today,” Frankie reflects.

Frankie’s contributions extend far beyond her own achievements. Her unwavering enthusiasm and dedication have made her an inspiration within Booths and an ambassador for apprenticeships. Her work to develop a new Store Standards Audit demonstrates her ability to innovate and leave a lasting impact on the organisation.

As Frankie continues her development at Booths, her story serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work. Her journey is a testament to the incredible opportunities that apprenticeships offer and the positive ripple effects they create within businesses and communities.
