Learning and Development Journey’s that Delivered Impact
Intec are proud to announce that we had two of our learners in the running for the CIPD Outstanding HR and L&D Apprentice Award Level 3. We are even more proud to announce that Kevin Green, Intec’s very own Apprentice of the Year 2025, also scooped the CIPD Award.
Kevin and Lisa Lynwood have been outstanding learners, undertaking their Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner Apprenticeship they both achieved a Distinction at end point assessment.
In February 2025 Kevin, who is employed by Muller UK, was awarded Intec’s Apprentice of the year award reflecting his journey from factory worker to learning & development professional having made a significant impact on the way his organisation undertakes employee training. This was done through the introduction of gamification and taking the initiative to enhance accessibility within training materials, introducing QR codes that simplified access to key resources for colleagues. Maxine Booth, his Tutor at Intec comments “He has unlocked his potential and he is self-guiding his development needs and that of the learners he supports. It has been a pleasure to work with him and to see the impact and growth from a personal and professional lens”. When Muller introduced a more efficient range of printers it was Kevin who developed the Cimjet 2200 training programme with an aim of ensuring operational efficiency and employee satisfaction and confidence in the implementation of new operating equipment. Kevin worked with project sponsors and Muller’s health and safety staff to ensure the training programme’s compliance before then piloting it and making adjustments ahead of a wider roll out. All of this was aligned to Muller’s mission of ‘Unleash our People’ and has resulted in reduced operational down time, lower maintenance costs and improved employee satisfaction.
Lisa has had an equally impactful journey with her employer, The Donkey Sanctuary, working with Lead Tutor Jackie Hanson, Lisa studied areas such as costing and benchmarking, a range of learning theories and models for capturing Return on Investment. Lisa started her career at the sanctuary providing care for the donkeys but quickly developed a passion for supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills. Jackie explains “Lisa moved into the central team and started her journey within learning and development, demonstrating a keen interest in new and emerging technologies. Lisa quickly grew in her knowledge and application of technology such as gamification to bring learning to life. As her confidence blossomed she became an integral part of the wider education team working collaboratively across the organisation. As a learner Lisa was always curious, asking questions, using her newly gained knowledge and skills to challenge and question the status quo and to share her creativity and innovation. It has been a pleasure to support Lisa on her journey and see how she has grown, recognising her neurodiversity as a strength and became the subject matter expert in using technology to support the education department and the wider team” Lisa’s project as part of the Apprenticeship has seen her improve the organisations approach to Health and Safety as well as developing early interventions to support both employees and the care of donkeys.
Both Kevin and Lisa have contributed significantly to their organisation and Intec are immensely proud to have been a part of their learning and development journey.
