Intec offers a range of programmes from Levels 2 to 5 to support you at any stage in your career. Unlike traditional qualifications that focus solely on knowledge, apprenticeships emphasise demonstrating the behaviours developed throughout the programme. What does this mean for your CV? It shows employers that you’re not only equipped with the understanding needed but also have proven skills to perform the role effectively.

Apprenticeships are allocated a funding band by the government, covering the cost of the programme. Your employer funds the apprenticeship either through the Apprenticeship Levy or, for organisations with a smaller wage bill, through government funding that can cover up to the full programme cost.

If you’re applying for a new apprenticeship role, keep in mind there may be entry requirements. You should be atleast 16 years old and with limited funding available, candidates must have been UK residents for at least three years or be part of the EU Settlement Scheme. If successful, you cannot be enrolled in another government-funded programme such as a Learn Direct course or accessing funding to attend a course at University. For those currently attending college, completing an apprenticeship with us will require you to withdraw from from a college course.

You’ll need your employer’s approval to enrol in the programme, as they’ll fund the course and support you in completing the off-the-job training. It’s also important to be in a role that gives you the right opportunities to meet the apprenticeship requirements, helping you make the most of your experience with us. No need to worry! Although achieving Level 2 or equivalent (grade 4+ at GCSE) in English and maths is required before progressing to the End Point Assessment, we can access government funding through the apprenticeship programme to help you reach this standard with Functional Skills. These are available at Levels 1 and 2 in both maths and English.
