1988

By the late 1980’s Intec had expanded, opening six locations in various parts of the UK, to deliver skills workshops accredited by City & Guilds.

1994

Apprenticeships have been around in one form or another for over 400 years but 1994 spelled big changes for the UK system with the launch of the Modern Apprenticeship or Apprenticeship Frameworks: Combining NVQ’s and functional skills.

1997

National Vocational Qualifications launched, NVQ’s as they became known aimed to standardised vocational training.

Although Intec has been based in Rugby since its formation, in 2010 Intec converted an old Victorian primary school into a state of the art head office to focus on the country’s skills needs in the years to come.

2013

Trailblazer groups of employers, training providers and industry experts were charged with revamping apprenticeships to develop the in-demand skills employers need to bridge skills gaps to remain competitive.
